Thanks for the info Linda!

It has always been an area that has had a certain appeal to me and with your comments I might plan a tour one of these days.

Did you still had good weather at the end of October? I guess there summer season is rather short, July & August?

@Yamamoose: since the last Russians moved out after 1992, they have been and still are renovating with alot of love to the marine traditions,
and some town roads are still of cobblestone or only dirtroads

@John:i know i can make you happy with more pics Very Happy

@Peer: the temperatures in October were around 15 degrees C, weather was mixed and very differnet from day to day.
i wouldnt go there in July or August because of the higher busy season( there is a daily Express Bus from Berlin) Surprised
next time i will go there either in May/June or after the middle of September.

you can order a free(in german: kostenlos)Accomodation Katalog here:
https://zimmer.im-web.de/Katalog.php3?id=12
looks to me as if they send it to any country Very Happy

the Towns of Stralsund and Wismar belong to the Unesco World Heritage places
the Darss West Coast belongs to the 20 best Beaches..it is wonderfully wild and natural Wink
the Darrs Area is since 20 years a National Park
there is a Bernstein Museum in Ribnitz-Damgarten
take a boot excursion to the Island Hiddensee
in October you can watch the flight of thousands of Cranes/Grus ..we even saw them on fields between Berlin and Rostock.
every town has a few places where they sell fresh smoked fisch..we had that every evening Very Happy yummy yummy yummy Very Happy

more tips Very Happy

a most do in Prerow is the Café Teeschale where you can choose between 130 different Teas Very Happy
http://www.schoene-orte.net/seiten/teeschale.html
or take a ride thru town with the funny little yello Darss Train(takes you nearly to the Lighthouse)

in the Town of Ahrenshoop you can visit alot of Art Exibitions,
and a must is the old "Bunte Stube" (very good literatur, many regional books, Artworks, etc.)
or go for a delicious Sea Buckthorn cream cake in the Café "zur Robbe"
you will find alot of different sea buckthorn products to buy and enjoy Wink

in Wustrow there is an interesting old cemetery with seamens graves,
and a must is to climb up the church tower for the view.
and there is an old Ship Navigation School, but not open any more.
